OVERVIEW

The CPD Sessions are open to Co-ordinators and current certificated Graduates of Module 2 (Reflective Practitioner), Module 3 (Mentoring Practitioner) and Module 4 (In-service Trainer)

On the Booking Form Co-ordinator Course Graduates will need to provide the name of the course attended and M2, M3 and M4 Course Graduates will need to include the course reference number from their graduation certificate

This CPD session will look at issues of both drift and decay in Intensive Interaction practices after its initial adoption. The interactive session will look to define these issues, understand why they might occur, and collectively identify achievable means of avoiding them.

Positive Behavioural Support and Intensive Interaction


Incorporating the approach into the framework and keeping its identity


This CPD session will be of benefit to Co-ordinators/practitioners looking to prioritise Intensive Interaction as a proactive strategy within PBS planning and intervention. The interactive session will explore and discuss the inclusion of Intensive Interaction at every stage of the PBS framework. Participants will be supported to develop a narrative to help with the dialogue required to ensure that the approach maintains its identity in a well written PBS plan.

The CPD Session

A family's journey of connection, regulation and development through Intensive Interaction


This CPD session will reflect one family’s use of II to support connection, wellbeing and quality of life for their autistic children, both at home and in their school environment. Video footage of the children will be used throughout to show the use of II to develop peer-to-peer relationships, emotional regulation and participation needs.

The CPD Session

Developing relationships through Intensive Interaction - attachment and belonging


Views on attachment theory have changed over the years. Attachment styles are now understood to be dynamic, changing over time, and across and within relationships. This CPD reviews the development of attachment theory, examines the evolutionary basis for belonging, and discusses how Intensive Interaction practitioners can apply neuroscience insights to foster security and trust with those they support.
